Our mission is to provide safe solutions that can reduce the healthcare and economic burden resulting from bacterial infections and concomitant clinical complications.
Sculpted by evolution, milk, nature’s first food for the newborn, provides an exemplary solution to address the nutritive and protective challenges an infant is faced with.
We are developing the anti-pathogenic molecules from milk into therapeutics geared towards all-age diseases.
Our first indication is Bacterial Vaginosis (BV), which impacts almost a third of all women. It is a type of inflammation that results in recurrent infections, disruption of homeostasis and longer-term complications in women of reproductive ages. These include but are not limited to urinary tract and yeast infections, miscarriages and preterm births, fertility issues, pelvic inflammatory disease and increased rates of STDs.
We are leading efforts to address BV via topical therapeutics.
We are developing efficacious, selective and “safe” antimicrobial peptides from mammalian milk(s) to address bacterial infections.
Our new AI-enabled technology allows us to identify and validate these bioactive molecules aimed at diverse therapeutics targeting a variety of indications that impact all genders and ages.
We are a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and world-class team of scientists at University of California, Davis with combined 100 years of experience studying microbiology, chemistry and food science.
